Eating

In Dubai visitors are spoilt for choice. You can sample its superb food and beverage facilities - cuisine literally from around the world - and its vibrant, cosmopolitan, sophisticated night-life - the opportunities for entertainment and enjoyment are endless.

Few places in the world offer such an enormous choice of excellent food. With a discerning multinational population, the region is a diner's delight.

You'll find a whole range of cuisines, including Polynesian, Tex-Mex, Japanese and French as well as traditional Middle Eastern dishes, such as the shawarma, the kibbe, hommous, kofta, warak enab, umm ali, ouzi and mezze. Apart from the wide range of styles of cooking, there is an equally large choice of types of restaurants - from the extremely sophisticated to the street-corner stalls.

Shopping

Shopping adds an exciting dimension to Dubai with an international reputation for excellence, variety and competitive prices.
  • Dubai 's tax free open market means bargains galore even at the award-winning Duty Free complex.
  • A wide range of modern, air-conditioned malls and the traditional souks offer many bargains especially during the annual month-long Dubai Shopping Festival.
  • A visit to Dubai - known as 'The City of Gold' - would not be complete without a shopping spree at the famed gold souk.

It is important for golfing visitors to note that all golf courses in Dubai are spike-free.

Tennis:

There are a number of tennis clubs that are open to the public. The Aviation Club has public courts, as does the Dubai Tennis Academy , Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Many of Dubai 's hotels also offer tennis facilities.
